Designed and built in 1999, King Valley Golf Course rests on 370 acres of previous dairy farmland owned by the Knisely family. Original landowners, Ben and Donna Knisely, and their three children, Brian, Brad, and Shari, invited Golf Pro and Course Designer, Frank Kiraly, to their farm to scope out a vision they had. Immediately, Mr. Kiraly knew the Knisely's had to start construction, and soon King Valley was underway.
The first 9 holes opened in the spring of 1999, while the finalization plans for the second nine were underway. In 2000, the Knisely family opened the remaining holes and haven't looked back since. The family is no stranger to hard work, so they each played a massive role in the construction and operation. Ben and his sons, along with numerous grandchildren and other family members, ran the course maintenance, while Donna and daughter Shari, daughter-in-law Diane, more grandchildren and other family members, handled the clubhouse responsibilities, like accounting, payroll, and licensing.
Since the passing of Ben and his son Brian, Brad and Casey (Brian's son) manage the course maintenance and greens keeping. They, along with their incredible crew, are the reason why our course stays beautiful. You can also find Diane and Shari in the clubhouse, arranging tournaments, organizing events, and making sure that King Valley is running smoothly.
After 25 years, King Valley is still one of central Pennsylvania's top golf destinations. There's a lot of love and effort put into the course each season, and we are thankful that we are able to bring that to you, year after year. We hope that you enjoy your next visit here. So, come see why we are proud to say that we are King Valley.
